Preparation of the Nicosia Local Plan | Public Meetings Hosted by the South Nicosia–Idalion Municipality

As part of the ongoing preparation of the Nicosia Local Plan, the South Nicosia–Idalion Municipality, in cooperation with our Office, organised a series of public consultation meetings on 10, 13, and 14 July 2026. The meetings took place at the Idalion Amphitheatre and were dedicated respectively to the Municipal Quarters of Pera Chorio, Nisou, and Potamia; the Municipal Quarter of Idalion; and the Municipal Quarters of Lympia and Alambra.

The consultation meetings were held to present the objectives and progress of the Nicosia Local Plan, outlining the planning process, the core principles of urban and spatial planning, the existing planning zones, and the key planning considerations affecting the Municipality's future development.

The meetings concluded with an open discussion, during which residents, landowners, users, and other stakeholders had the opportunity to raise questions, express their views, and provide comments and recommendations on matters relating to the planning and sustainable development of the Municipality.
