Land of Tomorrow

The Land of Tomorrow project is a proposed masterplan for the city of Larnaca in Cyprus, designed by Foster + Partners for Petrolina. The project aims to create a sustainable and modern urban environment that reflects the unique culture and heritage of Larnaca.

The masterplan involves the development of 19 plots of land located along Larnaka’s seafront and includes a range of commercial, residential, and leisure facilities. The development is designed to incorporate green spaces, pedestrian walkways, and cycling paths, with an emphasis on promoting sustainable modes of transportation.

The basic design principles of the masterplan are sustainability, the dominance of green and open spaces with the adoption of strict principles of environmental design, access to modern infrastructure as well as the connection with the surrounding areas.

The project represents a significant investment in the future of Larnaca, with the potential to transform the city into a vibrant, modern, and sustainable urban center. It aims to provide new and significant investment opportunities and uses in the fields of tourism, culture, entrepreneurship, innovation and the environment while boosting the local economy.

ALA is providing environmental and transport related advice throughout the master plan development process and will be carrying out the associated EIA and TIA studies for the project.
