2nd Conference on Sustainable Mobility and Intelligent Transport Systems in Cyprus

On Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th of December 2013, the 2nd Conference on Sustainable Mobility and Intelligent Transport Systems in Cyprus was organized under the “Diavlos" act. The Conference was organized by the Department of Public Works, the University of Cyprus and the Technical Chamber of Cyprus. Administrative support to the Conference was provided by the companies Tredit SA and ALA Planning Partnership.

The topics covered on the first day of the conference included the sustainable urban transport policies (network design, mobility management and transport services, tracking systems). The topics on the second day of the conference focused on intelligent transport systems.

The Conference was attended by Public Administration officers from all bodies associated with transport and by a significant number of executives from companies and institutions involved directly or indirectly with sustainable and intelligent transport.

The conclusions that were drawn from the conference included the significant progress that was made in Cyprus in recent years regarding the implementation of the principles of sustainable mobility and the development of intelligent transport systems. Also, the next steps in relation to the effective implementation of policies for sustainable and intelligent transport were predetermined.
